Here at Gloucester Sport we are proud to unveil the county’s first multi-sport membership, City JNRS. City JNRS has been designed to support families of our young athletes by providing one affordable membership that covers both our sports (football and basketball). For £20 members can choose each month which sport they wish to focus on. Becoming a member will also see benefits such as free tickets to both professional football and basketball.
City JNRS basketball sessions have been successfully running on Sunday morning’s at St Peter’s High School for the last month, with professionally qualified coaches inspiring young players aged U6-U12 with a mixture of fun games and activities, as well as competitive training.
City JNRS football sessions will start on Sunday, September 4th, with fun football sessions for Under 8’s and Under 10’s every Sunday morning at the TigerTurf Stadium. The sessions will be coached by professional coaches as well as first-team players from Gloucester City AFC. Under 6 sessions will take place at GL1 Leisure Centre, with dates to be confirmed soon.
City JNRS has attracted some strong partners and sponsors who also value giving back to the community, with Montagu Academy, Aspire Sport and Cultural Trust, Griffiths Marshall Advisory Group and Gloucestershire Basketball Association and more all on board with the City JNRS project.
Co-owner, Alex Petheram had this to say:
“Gloucester Sport has been designed to eventually host multiple sports under one umbrella. This is the first move to showing families that not only do we encourage our young athletes to try lots of sports but we have consciously thought about the financial impact to families and benefits we can add because at this time every little helps.”
This is just the first of many additions to the City Jnrs brand designed to create memorable experiences for young athletes as well as supporting families in an effort to give back to our community.
CEO, Jay Marriott had this to say:
“We have some ambitious plans to add mini leagues, stronger pathways, more camps, more members benefits and eventually more sports. Doing all these things with the plan of not changing the price point so purely additions to a project we feel gives immense value back into the community we serve. We are really proud of the product and our growth plans.”
Ian Price, Owner of Griffiths Marshall Advisory Group had this to say:
“We are delighted to support this exciting programme. It provides such an excellent opportunity for local children to get really involved and discover more about what both basketball and football have to offer. The combined membership to both sports is a great way of opening up options to everyone, and we’re proud to be helping more families to appreciate and afford the enjoyment and benefit that each sport brings.”
Stay up to date through our socials on more announcements about the brand and how it plans to move forward, with monthly central venue league competitions against other local clubs being introduced in the future.
