GCAFC Women promoted!

Gloucester City AFC Women have secured promotion in only our second season since formation!

A third placed finish in the Gloucestershire County Women's Football League Division 1 was enough to ensure promotion to regional football next season and Manager Chris Hill has praised his players' determination:

"Todays news was really positive, the girls have worked so hard across both seasons to finally earn this opportunity. After a bit of a blip we showed our toughness towards the end of the season to get back on track and finish in third. I’m excited for the new season and I know we can push on and compete with the teams at that level. I have great belief in the players we have in both squads. They should all be proud of this moment, each one of them has helped drive us on and keep us focused. I can’t wait to get preseason underway and get us ready for the next challenges."

The South West Womens Regional Division 1 North awaits next season, and Operations Director Nicky Chambers added her congratulations:

"Having only recently become involved at GCAFC, our ladies section is something that really excites me. Thanks to the success of our amazing lionesses, Women’s football has finally got a platform. There are opportunities out there for everyone. I personally want all our ladies to get the chance to be the best they can possibly be. The future is bright and exciting and I am so looking forward to following and supporting your journey."
