As the current season reaches a conclusion, we are pleased to announce new appointments within Gloucester City Youth.
Current girls’ coaches Scott English and Geoffrey Lanceley have taken on leadership roles within the girls' youth development programme. They will work diligently to support their fellow coaches and cultivate a positive, nurturing environment for our City girls. This will allow Chris Hill to focus on continuing the excellent success with the women’s senior teams.
Josh Taylor has been appointed Head of Coaching for Gloucester City Youth and will become the lead figure in a revamped youth setup. Josh will take over the day to day running of the youth section and will also continue as City U18s manager, whilst stepping down from his joint role at Gala Wilton FC.
Jim Hart (Director, GCAFC Foundation) and Bob Owen will support Josh in the forthcoming season to implement his ideas and vision.
Jim will be on hand as an advisor, and is a familiar face around the club having previously been GCAFC Community Officer and Director of Youth.
Bob will be acting as a consultant, having had over 40 years experience in local youth football in his role at Gloucester Primary Schools Football Association.
All three share a clear vision of what they want to do and how to do it.
Gloucester City AFC Foundation will be working alongside the youth section to establish more inclusion football projects at the club and across the city, creating a new pathway into Gloucester City Youth for local children.
We firmly believe that these positive changes will contribute significantly to the continued growth and success of our football club across all levels.
We are seeking more coaches to help us achieve our ambitions - if you are interested in a volunteer coaching role (expenses paid) please apply here: https://www.gloucestercityafc.com/youth
