City centre back Ben Nugent shares his thoughts on the past week…
It’s been a tough couple of weeks for the team after a positive start to the new year. A hard-fought game against Southport in which we came away with nothing after dominating large parts of the game was very disappointing. New signing Matt Green was unable to make his debut as his international clearance did not go through. Greeny made his debut against Hereford on Tuesday night producing a gritty performance, something he’s been doing his whole career. A goal on his first start was unfortunately not backed up with a clean sheet which has been a strong point over the last couple months for this City team.
“I can feel that we are on the cusp of a complete team performance”
Young Louis Hall has also entered the dressing room joining us from Newport bringing youth and athleticism to the team with both players making their presence felt in training after just one week.
I can feel that we are on the cusp of a complete team performance and once we gain some momentum, I have no doubt that we will surge. The Gloucester fans drove the team on Tuesday night in a game where we easily could have shared the spoils and we as players will need more of the same over the coming weeks with some crucial fixtures ahead.
The support is appreciated and this group of players are committed to working hard to turn things around
