Gloucester City have made it two signings in as many days with the signature of Daniel Leadbitter on a one year contract. The former Newport County and Bristol Rovers defender was on loan at City from The Exiles earlier this year before the season was curtailed.
Leadbitter, who will wear the number 12 shirt, joins Jordan Young in signing this week, City's first week of pre-season training. The 30 year old versatile defender who can play full back as well as centre half will add vital experience to a backline that includes Tom Harrison, Josh Thomas and Jack James. Cameron McGilp is the other new signing having committed to the club for the coming season in May.
Manager Paul Groves commented; "I'm really pleased to bring Leads back to the club. He's an experienced pro and a great footballer". Co-chairman Alex Petheram was equally pleased, saying; "Leads is a great signing for us. He's experienced and his calibre is something you can't buy. I'm delighted he's signed for the club. Welcome back".
