MATCH REPORT- Gloucester City 1-2 Walton & Hersham

Gloucester City's 12 game unbeaten run came to an end after a Dawid Rogalski double ensured Walton & Hersham came from behind to win at the TigerTurf Stadium.

The first half was lacking in many chances with a Ben Richards-Everton header well saved by Josiah Barker in the away sides goal, while Joseph Jones came closest for the away side.

The game was very stop start with injuries to Barker in the opening stages and Kai Jennings having to make way after sustaining a knock for their top scorer Dawid Rogalski who was returning from injury himself and would be the game's deciding figure.

City took the lead on the 55th minute after a Jake Evans free kick deflected off the wall and off the back of Joe Hanks and fell to the path Ed Williams who's side footed strike nestled into an empty net.

The away side equalised 10 minutes later after three consecutive shots were palmed away by Tigers keeper Luke Bell before Rogalski bundled it in for the Surrey side.

The home side were pressing for the winner with an Elis Watts strike saved low down by Barker and a Harry Pinchard flyer going just wide of the right hand post.

Bell had to make an incredible save with an outstretched right arm to deny in-form Johl Powell with 10 minutes left on the clock.

The momentum was switching the way to the away side who were creating chance after chance that the on- loan Coventry keeper did well to keep out, with players putting their body on the line.

It wasnt to be enough however as Rogalski won the game for the Swans on the 88th minute after the hosts failed to clear on multiple occasions before the Polish striker fired a belting strike into the top left corner completing the turnaround.

The away fans who made the journey from the South East were in delirium including boss Billy Rowley running onto the pitch.

City plugged for an equaliser but didn't test the away side, and they held on for their fifth consecutive away successes and eight win in 10 matches.

It was the hosts first defeat at the TigerTurf since 16th November, and just their fourth all season, but it means any slim chances of securing automatic promotion has near enough evaporated.

Next up for Gloucester City is a trip away to Hungerford Town who prior to this weekends fixtures were the in form side in the division, as they look to get back to winning ways with them now just sitting three points clear of today's opponents who also have a game in hand.
