MATCH REPORT: GLOUCESTER CITY 2-2 GOSPORT BOROUGH

Gloucester City were held to a draw by Gosport Borough in the final game of the league season.

With barely a minute on the clock Harry Burns puts City ahead with a finish on the rebound.

Only 10 minutes later, an own goal from a Gosport defender made it two as City started with intent.

Gosport gradually grew into the half and got themselves back into the contest in the 33rd minute when Ash Yearwood fired home to halve the deficit.

On potentially his last appearance at the TigerTurf Stadium, Kev Dawson left the field just before the end of the first half to an ovation from the home supporters.

The second half saw plenty less action as City looked to relax ahead of Wednesday’s big game but things took a big turn in the 83rd minute.

A last ditch tackle from Harry Emmett was adjudged a foul and a red card for the left back as well as a penalty for the visitors.

Ash Yearwood duly converted for his second of the game and a late leveller for Gosport.

With neither side able to find a late winner, the points were shared before we head to Surrey on Wednesday evening.

Make sure to get yourself to the game and support the lads in the biggest game of the season!
