Gloucester City ended a five game winless run in all competitions after trouncing Poole Town 4-1 at the TigerTurf Stadium.
The Tigers were applying the pressure from the first whistle, in conditions not too dissimilar from the weather at Walton and Hersham.
Jadyn Crosbie who was constantly hounding and pressing the defencers nearly gave the City the lead on seven minutes as his shot from just inside the box dragged just wide of the left hand post.
Half way through the first half, City reflected their domination and took the lead though they were aided by a goalkeeping mistake from the Dolphins keeper Cam Plain.
The keeper failed to catch an easy ball and it fell to Stanley Anaebonam who tapped home an empty net to score his first goal for the club.
Anaebonam was proving to be the star of the show and he was constantly sitting down full back Leo Taylor as well as getting saves out of their keeper from half chances.
Just three minutes later, City thought they made it two but Anaebonam was just adjusted to have gone too early before he laid the ball on a place to Joe Hanks who calmly slotted away.
As has been the case for the majority of the season, the Tigers were failing to make their domination count and were pegged back just two minutes before half time.
The away side were gaining more territoy in the match and went close with a few chances before they got their equaliser on the stroke of half time.
City failed to clear from a corner and Josh Staunton was there to stab his strike powerfully into the top right hand corner leaving Jared Thompson with no chance.
The level scores only lasted for a minute before City restored their lead that on the balance of play they totally deserved.
The Norwegian Anaebonam fired a strike at Plain which was saved but spilled straight to an unmarked Crosbie who was there to score from close range to score his second for the club and totally change the respective managers half time team talks.
Just after the interval Rafa Ramos nearly drew the away side level but missed a sitter to keep the score at 2-1.
They were made to pay just two minutes later.
Ed Williams who had yet to score in his second spell for City made it three and took the game from the away side.
After Joe Hanks scored straight from a corner the previous week, it was Williams turn to score from a direct free kick after his inswinger on the left hand side of the pitch had enough power to go straight past Plain and nestle into the bottom right hand corner.
The game was made safe just six minutes later and helped City to their biggest win of the season.
Stan the man was terrorising the Poole defence and after superbly making space for himself was hacked down by a defender 20 yards from goal.
The left winger stepped up to take the free kick and his drilled strike was palmed out low by their keeper, but Crosbie showed his poacher instinct for the second time of the game to tap in to make it four and ensure that all three points were City's.
With 20 minutes to, Anaebonam came off the pitch to raptures of applause from the T End after a stunning home debut with a goal and two assists to boot.
The away side were hunting for a route back in the game after bringing on Toby Holmes with their wingers Tyrique Clarke and Ezio Touray being their bright sparks.
City had Thompson to thank after tipping a goal bound header onto the bar and they also hit the post but the home side remained resolute to earn a crucial three points to end a poor run of form and keep up the hunt for the Southern Premier Division South title.
