One City: He's one of our own!

For our first “ONE CITY” feature we look to the future as we put the spotlight on some of young men knocking on the first team door this season.

Gloucester born manager, Lee Mansell has been very vocal in his desire to see our youth products getting chances to either train or play in the first team squad. 20 plus youth players have been given the opportunity to train and try to turn the heads of the first team staff. This included the COVID hit cup game versus Wrexham that featured eight youth products who gained valuable experience.

Throughout all the opportunities there have been four players that have consistently been involved, Jack Hill, Joe Jeremiah, Alex Avenell and Jurzy Marszalek. Jack and Joe being Gloucester City AFC products since U12’s.

18 year old Jack Hill has been the breakthrough story this season showing not just talent but maturity in his appearances from the bench this season.

Daf Williams, assistant manager of GCAFC said:

“I’ve been impressed with his general attitude both on and off the field. His performances for the U18’s has led to an opportunity with us at the first team level, which at present is grabbing with both hands.”

Keep your eyes peeled for more exciting announcements around pathways for our young players to the first team.
