Preview: Kettering v City (a)

Gloucester City will travel to Northamptonshire tomorrow where they will take on Kettering Town in the league.

City head into the game in good spirits after an impressive 4-1 home victory over Guiseley last weekend. There is currently 12 points separating the two sides in the league with City in 17th place and Kettering in 10th.

The game will be the third meeting between the two teams this season with the first being a 0-2 league defeat at home back in August. However, the most recent clash between the two was in the FA Trophy back in November where City came out victorious, earning a 3-0 win. Daniel Leadbitter, Ollie Hulbert and Max Sheaf were all on target for City that day.

Speaking after the game last week Assistant Manager Dafydd ‘Daf’ Williams spoke positively about the side:

“It’s a big step in the right direction in terms of our status in the league. We look ahead to Kettering now to secure our position in the division which will be a massive game for us.”

A win for City tomorrow will see them achieve back-to-back victories and will move them further away from the relegation zone and one step towards their target of remaining in the division for next season.
