Gloucester City have signed Bristol Rovers midfielder Tom Mehew on a one month loan.
Tom will be familiar to City fans as he is the son of former manager David ‘Boris’ Mehew who guided the club to playoff success in 2009. Subject to FA approval Tom will be available for tomorrow’s trip to Alfreton.
Tom is a player i know very well, having coached him from the academy into the 1st team. He brings something different to the midfield area to what we have and is adaptable in various different positions. He has good quality and we are hoping he can showcase this during his time with us. It’s important over the busy Xmas period that we can continue to produce teams in each fixture over that period and having good players obviously helps with that. Thanks to Joey Barton at Bristol rovers for allowing this to happen and it shows that football league clubs are trusting us with the development of their players Lee Mansell
